Story In Tagalog

In Tagalog, the word “story” can be translated as “kwento” or “istorya“. It refers to a narrated account of an event or series of events, either true or fictional.

Sa Tagalog, ang salitang “story” ay katumbas ng “kwento” o “istorya”. Ito ay tumutukoy sa isang pangyayari na maaaring totoo o kathang-isip lamang.

“Kwento” or “kuwento” is used to refer to a narrated account of an event or series of events, either true or fictional.

Examples:

  • Nagustuhan ko ang kwento ng aking kaibigan tungkol sa kanyang paglalakbay sa ibang bansa. (I liked my friend’s story about her travels to other countries.)
  • Napakaganda ng kwento ng pilikulang aking pinanuod. (The story of the film I watched is awesome.)

“Istorya” is also used to refer to a story that is told orally or in writing.

Examples:

  • Ano ang istorya ng iyong paboritong libro? (What is the story of your favorite book?)
  • Narinig mo na ba ang istorya ng buhay ni Jose P. Rizal? (Have you heard the life story of Jose P. Rizal?)
