Despite In Tagalog

In Tagalog, the word “despite” can be translated as “sa kabila ng” or “kahit na”. It is used to introduce a fact or situation that contrasts with what has already been stated, or to indicate that something happened or exists in spite of a particular circumstance.

Sa Tagalog, ang salitang “despite” ay katumbas ng “sa kabila ng” o “kahit na”. Ang salitang “despite” ay ginagamit upang magpahayag ng ng isang pangyayari o aksyon sa kabila ng isang partikular na sitwasyon.

“Sa kabila ng” is used to introduce a fact or situation that contrasts with what has already been stated.

Examples:

  • Sa kabila ng aking sakit, hindi ako tumigil sa pag-aaral. (Despite my illness, I didn’t stop studying.)
  • Sa kabila ng aking pagod, hindi ako tumigil sa paglilinis ng bahay. (Despite my tiredness, I didn’t stop cleaning the house.)


“Kahit na” is used to indicate that something happened or exists in spite of a particular circumstance.

Examples:

  • Kahit na hindi ako magaling sa matematika, sinubukan ko pa rin. (Despite not being good at math, I still tried.)
  • Kahit na hindi ako sang-ayon sa iyo, sinusubukan kong intindihin ang iyong pananaw. (Despite not agreeing with you, I’m trying to understand your perspective.)
